One of my favorite fishing spots in Minnesota is Lake Minnewashta, ideal for catching largemouth bass. Additionally, Lake Minnewashta Park spreads over 341 acres of wilderness and offers excellent hiking and skiing. However, Lake Minnewashta is only one of 11,842 lakes within the state of Minnesota, an area that also boasts over 69, 000 miles of rivers and streams.
Minnesota’s distinctive natural landscape developed more than 9,000 years ago, when the innumerable glaciers that dominated the area began melting, leaving in their wake the pristine, glacial waterways that are much visited today. With so many lakes and rivers to attend to, an organizational framework was put into place by Minnesota’s citizens. Conservation Minnesota is a nonprofit charitable coalition that seeks to safeguard the fragile ecosystem of Minnesota’s numerous waterways. Additionally, its members work to educate the public on what it can do to help preserve the land, the wildlife, the groundwater, and the other natural resources of Minnesota.
